Chapter One: Dr. Hottie and Maxinista
It was Thursday afternoon. Maxie Jones is finally on her lunch break from her dream job. Don't get her wrong. She loves her job but that job can be tolling. And Maxie was starving but she thought that seeing Spinelli was far more important than her growling stomach. She stepped out of the elevator in her Federico original, a gift from the designer himself. Suddenly her phone rings.
"Hello?" Maxie answered and she was greeted with a deep female voice. "Oh Why are you calling me Claudia?" She sighed. Why was Claudia on her back? Didn't Maxie already tell her that the deal is on? She just walked over to the counter.
"Ok you really shouldn't be calling me right now. Now now as much as I want the 20,000, I can't be thinking about that all day long. Yeah Yeah, don't worry. As long as your brother, Johnny, isn't an idiot, then he would have no problem…."
She never got a chance to finish her sentence as she collided into a wall (or so she thought.) It took Maxie a second to register what happened. But after a while, her brain cells started functioning again. At least the angry ones did.
"WHAT THE HELL?" She was ready to tell this guy off. But as soon as she looked up, she was met with the most amazing pair of brown eyes staring deep inside her blues. That stare was enough to shut her up for one second.
"You destroyed my PDA!" Maxie said shocked and angry. It took her all night to reupload Kate's information into the new one and she was pretty sure that Kate wouldn't be too happy to contribute for another one. "HELLO?" That angry look must have woken up Dr. Hottie. 'Dr. Hottie?'
"Huh? Oh I didn't break your PDA Miss." The doctor said in a smooth tone. A tone that thinks he is in control of the situation, angering Maxie.
"Wow, I thought doctors were supposed to be smart."
"We are."
"Then you should be able to comprehend a simple yet true fact that you bumped into me with your…"
"What? With my hard rock, abs of steel body?" Maxie chuckles.
"Hard rock? Abs of steel? What are you trying to do? Trying to make me laugh so hard that you have to stitch up my sides?" Maxie retorted.
"And why would I want to do that?"
"UM, I don't know, so you can touch me?" The doctor just laughed and walked away.
"Hey, My PDA?" Maxie inquired. She wanted to throw the broken PDA right in his face and hoped that all the shard from the glass screen will get stuck on his beard.
"Um, good luck finding a new one." Leyla decided to interrupt the almost physical fight and comes over.
"Dr. Hunter, we have an emergency." Leyla informed Dr. Hunter and he immediately walked away. But he apparently didn't walk fast enough because the last thing he heard was "Don't think I'm finished with you." He smiled, thinking that this morning isn't such a bust like he thought.
Maxie arrived back at Crimson all out of breath. She had been running around all day trying to buy an exact PDA that Mr., excuse her, Dr. Hunter broke. 'What a jerk!' Maxie thought. 'A hot jerk!' she added. Bu all of her hard work paid off because she found an exact PDA and make it in time before her lunch break was over.
"Now Kate will never have to know." Maxie said to herself out loud.
"Kate will never have to know what?" Kate appeared out of her office.
"You will not have to know the….surprise I got you for your wedding." Maxie smiled nervously. Kate looked at her suspiciously. "Hmm, nothing from the Home Office Closet?" Kate said referring to the bag that containing the new PDA. Maxie shook her heard. "No, of course not. Something amazing." Maxie quickly added.
"We shall see. Get me Celeste at Maha Chang." She entered back into her office. Maxie sighed and dialed the phone. 'Great!' She was out of 400 and now she has to get Kate an amazing and expensive gift. 'Thanks a lot Dr. Hunter!" She added bitterly.
