"Scrub in correctly, nurse," Doctor Kitamura whispered to the man standing to her right. The nurse flinched, realizing that he had touched his cheek right after washing his hands…
A mistake, indeed.
He re-washed his hands, then helped the doctor get into her surgical gown. When the waist was fastened, she put her gloves on. They made a satisfying series of stretching noises as she stretched them over her fingers and cuffs… at least to her. She giggled a bit before ambling to the operating table.
There lies a particularly small machamp, with a nasty gash on his chest. There were several fragments of glass lodged inside, and required corrective surgery and an LVAD to his heart, however she wasn't responsible for the implant.
"They're under, doctor," the anesthesiologist said. She nodded back, and picked up a small razor to start shaving the incision site.
"Orotracheal tube seated?"
"Yes."
"Alright… another walk in the park…" she whispered to herself as she started to remove the glass shards…
-Five Hours Later-
"Doctor… Rin Kitamura?" a man at the counter said quizzically, looking at her ID.
"Yes," she replied.
"Rotation passed, you are free to go home. Have a nice night." He passed her ID back to her, tapping a few things into the computer. Rin smiled and took her ID and bag, then walked out of the hospital. She slid into her car, sighing. She flicked her wrist to see her watch…
11:02 PM.
Goodness, it was late. She had only eight hours to get home, eat, get rest, and come back to work.
Rin sighed, keying the ignition and putting the car into gear. She slowly backed out of the lot, and onto the freeway home.
Half an hour passed, and as she was about to turn off of the freeway her phone rang. She didn't recognize the caller ID, but answered it anyway, placing it on speakerphone.
"Hello?"
"This is Rin, correct?" a man asked.
"Yes."
"You're being transferred." Rin sat in silence for a moment.
"Who do you work for?"
"I am the secretary for the regional healthcare supervisor of Sinnoh." She went silent again, realizing that she was still in Commission Corps… a military division.
"Of course," Rin said.
"You need to report to Mithriel Hospital, Central Sinnoh in two weeks. Ask for Board Manager Allen."
"Yes."
"Have a good night." He hung up.
Rin was in shock as she let her phone slip back into her purse.
A transfer? Into one of the busiest districts of Sinnoh?
MITHRIEL Hospital?
She smiled, knowing this would be a huge opportunity for her. Well…
Maybe not exactly an opportunity. She couldn't turn down the transfer. But still… she liked the idea.
Rin had a smile plastered on her face for the rest of the drive home, excited for what's to come...
