Annabeth POV
6 o'clock in the morning. And today is Monday. This is my first day of university. I quickly got off from the bed and stated to get ready for the day. I'm excited. I'm living in this lovely apartment by myself. Sometimes it's kind of lonely, but I'm used to it now. But I have some great friends always with me. They visit me almost every day so the thought of that I'm alone is something that rarely come to my mind. Lots of hangouts, movie nights you know, all those stuff. I'm lucky to have them by my side. They are the best.
Now it's 6 30 and I'm ready to go. Looking in to the mirror, I see blond girl with gray eyes. Hair is tied into a messy pony tail. I'm comfortable with that. No make-up. A simple gray colored t-shirt and black jeans. Nothing fancy, that just the way I am. I got my backpack, car keys, my phone and went to the lift to go to the garage. Thalia and Piper have messaged me.
Thalia: Good morning girl. I'm gonna late.
Me: Today is the first day and you're going to be late. You a awake already. What are you doing?
Who knows what up with her. That's Thalia for you.
Piper: Good morning Annabeth. Oooo I'm excited for today! Our first day as university students. And we all are together! This is awesome.
Me: Good morning Piper. Yeah, I'm also excited. See you there, bye.
Those two are my best friends. Thalia and I met at our preschool. We were 7 years old. We were at side by side on the first day. At first, I thought she was a rude girl. But at the end of that day, we became good friends. Anyone who sees Thalia for the first time will think that she is rude and scary. But that's just her. You can find that she is a very kind person at the deep if you happen to know her well.
We met Piper from college. She is very beautiful. Others would think that she is a girl who looks for attention with all that beauty, but that's her natural look. Her behavior is exactly opposite of what others think. She is very down to earth person, very approachable, nice to talk at any time about anything.
I'm in my car now on my way to the university. I'm driving a Prius which is given to me by my mom. So, our university, it called Olympus university, yeah, an odd name, but this is one of the best and most prestigious universities in the world. I went to college in long island. We call ourselves half-bloods. And there are Romans, who went to the college in San Francisco. These two college students will be the most noticeable in Olympus university because we all are very talented in various fields. There is something like a competition between romans and half-bloods when they are going to Olympus. Both of us want to prove that we are better than the other.
I parked my car and walked in. It's only 7 in the morning. There are only few people in the premises. I have about one hour until the first lecture. I like to be early. Specially today so I can breathe in the new environment around me freely. First, I went to my locker and put my stuff in it. Then I went to walk around. Olympus is huge. There are a lot to take in. the library is awesome. I wanted to be there, but I only have about 45 minutes left and that's not enough. I decided to visit the library properly another time and continue my walk around the campus. Laboratories, Music rooms, art rooms, basketball court, indoor stadium, tennis court, track field, football ground and then swimming pool. There is a boy standing near the pool. He must be a student here. There is a backpack on the ground besides him. He is doing nothing, only looking at the pool. I think he is deeply thinking about something. He is wearing black jeans and an orange colored shirt. His hands are on the pockets of his jeans. His posture is straight.
Messy black hair. I can't see his face though. What could be he thinking? How long have he been there? I'm curious. I wanted to talk to him but something held me back. I knew that he is enjoying the peace, the silence. I know that feeling so I think I don't wanted to disturb him. I checked my watch and it's 10 minutes to 8. Wow I have spent some time looking at this strange boy.
I headed back to my class. Now students are filling in. it's becoming messy. The quite surrounding is gone. My classes are at the other corner from the pool. I met lots of fresh faces and some familiar one from the college. I think Thalia and Piper are here by now. I'm not sure about Thalia though. So I walked towards the class looking for piper to start the first day of my university. The beginning of a new chapter of my life.
