Obsessed by Eve-the-Charlotte

Pairings: Mentions several pairings.

Actually, I'm supposed to be writing Dog Days of August, but this little thing got stuck in my brain and demanded freedom from my head. Yes, I know I'm insane, if you wish to comment on that, get a number and get in line. And, yes, Dog Days of August is about to be updated within the next 24 hours, so be patient, my duckies! In the mean time, enjoy this little thing!

Amanda Sefton stared out of her window. Her parents were arguing about her. Again.

She sighed as she thought about the little problem her parents had with what they called her, "unhealthy obsession with those freaks". But they didn't understand her. Not at all.

They didn't see the gods that stood before them. Her parents and she could be broken like glass, shattered into a million pieces by the mutants, but they continued to treat them like humans were so much better than the mutants were. It was a lie, all of this mankind superiority bullshit; it was Darwin in reverse, for Christ's sake! Yet they wouldn't see the error of their ways, never would, not until it was too late.

Her "unhealthy obsession" wasn't an unhealthy obsession; she just wanted to be a mutant. Yes, she wanted to be persecuted, to be hated, so when the time was right, she would emerge victor, and not one the side of the defeated. Most would think her insane for such a notion, human and mutant, as she soon discovered. Kurt didn't like her wanting to be one of them, and no matter what she bribed him with, he wouldn't keep quiet and wouldn't stay, saying he was obviously not a good influence on her.

Bullshit.

Plus, it wasn't fair, everyone else kept their boyfriends and girlfriends. Kitty had Lance; Rogue had that Gambit guy; Scott was with Jean; hell, even Pietro Maximoff was shacking up with a few girls here and there. Why did all the mutants never seem to have trouble finding dates, while the rest of the humans had no luck in love? Seriously, Jean dumped Duncan for Scott, and Scott did vice versa with Taryn. Poor Paul lasted barely a day with Jubilation Lee! And Mindy only got one night with Evan before he broke up with her a day later.

Yet, even the biggest bigots of the bigots could sense the power the mutants emanated, the strength, the raw energy that surrounded their very beings.

God, they could fly, shoot lasers from their eyes, move faster than the eye could see, turn into animals while still retaining their intelligence, never age, hell, even control the weather, yet humans still said they were inferior to them. They were so goddamn blinded by their own pride that they couldn't see the end, their end, until it was too late, like the dinosaurs before them.

So, Amanda continued on with her lowly existence until she found a flyer. It proclaimed the glory of mutants and the wish for humans to come out of their pathetic lives and join them, the U-Men, in their quest for becoming like the mutants. She was immediately hooked.

So, Amanda would bide her time with her parents and their "grounding". She would sneak out of this house of lies tonight and never look back. Her time as a human was over. The time of Amanda Sefton, U-Man, had begun.

Yes, I love Amanda, I just think she's nuttier than peanuts. Or at least that's the impression I got from her on the show. Might be just me who thinks that. Anyways, the U-Men are from comics, so yeah, that's where I get some of my stuff from, for future notice.

Read and review.
