Title: Only Love Author: Margot (aka Kittyfantastico) Rating: G Timeline: I'm not sure when this is set, really. It has no definite time or place, it could be anytime, anywhere. Disclaimer: I don't own anything Alias-related, except my S1 DVDs. If I did own these characters, the last two minutes of The Telling would never have happened, that's for sure! Ship: S/V, of course :) Summary: Syd has a decision to make, and Vaughn's life is in her hands. This is my entry to the CM September Challenge. The requirement is that is has to be dialogue only or no dialogue. See if you can guess which one it is ;)

"What do you mean I can't tell him? I would have thought you of all people would be on my side about this!"

"I mean exactly what I say. Under no circumstances are you to tell him what's been decided."

"You can't tell me what I can and cannot do."

"I realise that. But, Sydney, I am asking you to consider this rationally."

"You don't think I have?"

"No, I think you heard two seconds of the plan and reacted without thinking about it."

"And what two seconds would that be? The part where they told me Vaughn could die?!"

"Sydney -,"

"Is there more to the plan that that? Is there? Did I miss the description of how he's going to be tortured when he's caught, or how much it'll hurt -,"

"Sydney, calm down! I can understand that you feel compelled to tell Vaughn, but surely you must realise that doing so would endanger yourself, and undo everything the CIA's been working on for the past two months."

"But if I don't tell him, he'll be walking right into a death-trap, and I will not let that happen. I won't lose him like that, Dad. I - I can't.."

"It's not that simple."

"It's exactly that simple. I love him. Isn't that the simplest thing there is?..... Dad? Are you still there?"

"Yes. Uh, yes, I."

"I know you're only thinking of what's best for me.but this is my decision, and I've made it."

"You're putting yourself in grave danger by doing this. Is there nothing I can say to make you change your mind?"

"Nothing."

"Sydney.please."

"Dad, don't. Goodbye."

"No, Sydney! Don't hang up!"

"Goodbye, Dad."

"Sydney, if you hang up that pho -,"

"Vaughn speaking."

"Hi, it's me."

"Syd? Are you okay? Is everything alright?"

"I'm fine. There's something I need to tell you."
