Chapter 1 - Prelude

Haruko's POV

Year X748

Every day for me was a different day. Travelling around Fiore, meeting new people and learning new things. The world was beautiful. Full of light and nature. Full of laugher and happiness. That was the only world I knew and the only one I wanted to know. Grandma used to tell me, that a day is only sad, if we let it. She always said the world ahead of me wasn't always colorful, or neither always black and white – it was what we make it be.

In that day we were in Magnolia. It was a city full of magic and laughter. But the thing I liked the most was the building that everyone seemed to have different opinions. The infamous mage guild…

Fairy Tail

"Grandma, what is magic?" I asked, looking up to the old lady on my side, who smiled kindly. I've always lived with my Grandmother. She never spoke of my parents, and whenever I asked about them, she would change the subject. I stopped asking, but it never killed my curiosity. I wanted to know. I want to know.

"Magic, you say?" She looked to the sky, and smiled. "Magic is your spirit when you get connected with nature. Or maybe is simply love." Grandma looked at me and patted my head. "I cannot say what magic is. You must find it by yourself."

"I don't understand…" I said, blinking.

"The time will come, Haruko. The time will come, eventually."

We walked through the streets of Magnolia, with Grandma meeting some people of a merchandise guild. Grandma knew these regions really well, and so people all over Fiore would ask help to her or to other people of her guild to help them getting to somewhere. Grandma herself was a member of a merchandise guild, but she always said, her heart was with another guild. A guild with love on their hearts and a smile on their faces.

I smiled and walked away from Grandma. I kept walking and I bumped on someone, falling on the ground.

"Auch~." I looked up to the person I bumped in and got up, bowing. "I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention!"

"It's okay, young girl. Are you lost?" The old man asked, with a kind smile.

"No, I'm with my Grandmother and I just walked away…" I looked to the building and I smiled in surprise. "Fairy Tail…"

I ended up in Fairy Tail. The infamous guild of Magnolia. The guild with love on their hearts and a smile on their faces. The guild…

"You should return, or she will get worried." He said and I nodded, turning around to get back to Grandma.

"Hum…Mister? What's your name?" I asked, looking at the man who looked at me, deep in my eyes.

"Makarov. Makarov Dreyar." He answered and I smiled.

"I'm Haruko Hayashi! Nice to meet you!" I turned around and ran to Grandma. What I didn't know back there, was I had just met the master of Fairy Tail. And that the guild my Grandmother talked about was that same guild. Fairy Tail had a special place on our hearts. It always did, and it always will.

"I'll join Fairy Tail someday. And my family will also join." I murmured to myself, arriving at my Grandma's side, as we left Magnolia and Fairy Tail behind.
