Chapter One: Fright Night

I growl a little when I look in the sink. Sure, I brush my teeth hard and expect a little blood when I spit. However, this is just too much. There is hardly any of the blue of the toothpaste, and instead of a runny orange, you can tell it's red. Even when I spit out the water, I know that it's dyed red; that is worrysome. I look up at the mirror and notice a trail of blood leaking out of my mouth and, as I wipe it away with the back of my hand, I realize it is replaced immediately. That also can't be good.

I open my mouth to spit and a pool's worth of blood pours from my lips and I call out for Rude. Who I get instead, though, shocks me; my parents come into the bathroom. My drunken father laughs as the flow of red hits the floor. All my horrid mother does is bitch at me for getting blood on the floor. Along with the blood, now, something is biting at my lips; but it's almost soothing.

Suddenly I jolt up, smacking my head against Rude's and instantly regretting it.

"Reno?" His gruff voice is laced with worry. I realize he had been trying to kiss me awake and that I had been sweating.

"Mnn…yeah?" I cough a little and am relieved to find that there is no blood in my mouth.

"Are you alright?"

"…just had a dream."

"You sounded like you were drowning…" He looks seriously worried.

"It…was a bad one?" I smile cheekily.

"No, really?" There is a hint of a teasing smile on his lips that I can feel easily.

"Shut up." I chuckle, kissing him, "You're an ass, you know that?"

"Actually, I believe you're the ass and I'm the dick. Those were your exact words, right, Ren?"

"Mmm…shut up and stop ruining my moment." I purr, kissing at his lisp and closing my eyes. "Oh, I'm never brushing my teeth again."

"What? Reno, y ou know you have dragon breath when you wake up with a hangover."

"I'll live on mints, then?"

"No. I'll hold your hand if I need to."

"I could use your cock to brush my teeth?"

"I am not having anything down there minty."

"Then no brushing."

"Reno! Why not?"

"I'm not going to bleed all over the floor."

"…You're letting a dream dictate your dental hygiene?"

"…maybe…"

"You aren't getting touched until you brush." And, with that, Rude removed himself from me and headed for the living room. I felt dejected as I followed and dropped on top of him.

"Ru, that's too harsh."

"It's incentive." Rude pushed me off and headed for his arm chair and ottoman. I sat on the couch, legs behind me, on my knees with a pathetic look for just a moment before anger set in.

"Fine! I don't need you!" I yell and head back to the room, crashing onto the bed. I snuggle up against his side, mind set on sleep.

Would you believe I didn't catch a wink all night?

AN: This was meant to be a one-shot, but I'm gonna go ahead and write a second chapter, I think. This was actually fairly fun to write. It took my mind off of this big bitch in my painting class that I'm done talking to.
