Pairing: KuroFai

Warnings: Boys Love, but other than that it's pretty clean (which is kind of strange for me…).

Comments: Oh, how I miss Tsubasa during its run. It's kind of depressing with no KuroFai each week, but I'm happy to say I'm finding new obsessions. For those of you who haven't seen Katekyo Hitman Reborn, I suggest you go check it out. Yamamoto and Gokudera (8059) remind me of KuroFai and I'm definitely going to be writing some fanfiction for them once I'm caught up.

Anyways, enjoy!

(Special thanks to Spaz for beta-reading this for me!)

Disclaimer: The brilliance that is KuroFai belongs to CLAMP.

Sweaty flesh pressed against his arm tightly, long nails gripping him so hard that blood threatened to spill. A single hand held on to him for all its worth, emanating so much desperation that it was hard to breathe.

Kurogane almost shuddered.

"What do you want?" The words spoken were soft, not harsh. It was hard these days for Kurogane to be harsh, no matter how hard he tried.

The mage looked down, pale blond hair falling limply over his face. Kurogane could see his jaw twitch and clench uncertainly.

'I…" Fai started, but faltered. His head was still down.

Kurogane slowly knelt down to where Fai sat on the floor. With a metal hand, he gingerly titled the blonde's head up. Two blue eyes, glazed over with not yet shed tears, looked into his eyes shakily. A beat.

"I want you…to promise me…" The blue eyes closed. Clutching Kurogane's other shoulder tightly, Fai leaned in to rest their foreheads together.

"Promise me that you won't leave."

He opened his eyes and gazed into Kurogane's expressionless face.

"Promise me that you'll be here for me…."

Muscled arms suddenly moved to wrap themselves around Fai's skinny figure. Kurogane pulled the mage into a warm embrace, holding him firmly.

"I promise. Always."
