The battle was done, but yet the war remained. Six Vampires and one Werewolf stood over a dozen Werewolves. The Vampires' eyes were all focused upon the lone wolf. Josiah breathed hard as his eyes locked again with Nathan's. He whimpered.
Calling his name, Nathan took a step forward. He held out a hand, but he shrank away from his touch. "It's okay. You showed the others tonight you're still our brother."
Josiah's dark eyes flitted to Chris, whose fangs remained bared. He shook his head. Nathan touched his hand and felt him trembling a moment before Josiah turned and fled.
