Author's Note: Greetings! Guess what? Today is the one year anniversary of the day I published my first story (Walking Out) EVER! I would've done the day I joined , but I was a little late for that. Sorry. Anyways, Walking Out wasn't a very good story, and it was mainly published so I could get the feel of writing in Speed Racer: The Next Generation mode (it was the first time I'd ever written fanfiction, period). So, to commemorate this event, I've decided to post this story. This is a companion piece to Say Hello (hence the title, Say Goodbye.) No, I will not continue Say Hello or Say Goodbye. Those two drabbles are just that: drabbles. Speed Jr.'s POV. Takes place during Say Hello.

Oh look, a short Author's Note. Haven't seen one of those in a while. You could say that the short A/N is another tribute to my early writing days.

Disclaimer: I don't own Speed Racer: The Next Generation.

"I'm sorry Speed, but I can't bend the rules... Not even for my nephew."

"What are you... talking about?"

"I always knew that my older brother hid his second son away before he disappeared."

Was Headmaster Spritle right? Or was he wrong? A part of me thought he was right. Another part of me (the more logical part) knew he was wrong. There was just no way that I was even related to Speed Racer. I couldn't be his son. It's not possible. I don't look anything like Speed Racer, or X. Headmaster Spritle was wrong. No one just wakes up one morning and finds out they're a famous person's son. It was part of some sick joke. Maybe some sort of punishment for totaling Speed Racer's car.

Oh, come on, I thought to myself. I've wanted to know who my real family was my whole life. Now that I know, I think it's wrong?

Then again... I was left at the orphanage on the same day that my dad— I mean Speed Racer... disappeared.

But wouldn't X know if he had a brother?

I mean, he didn't look like he did when Spritle told us, but still. He must have asked about it earlier.

Who would lie to their kid like that?

Suddenly, the bell rang, startling me. I stood up and walked out the door of the lecture hall.

I was walking the school halls after class when I saw X. Maybe I could ask him about some of this stuff.

"Hey, X!" He didn't say anything.

"X! I've gotta talk to you!" He didn't even turn around.

"X, why aren't you answering me?" He just walked away. The bell rang, and the hallways cleared out, leaving me standing there alone.

I turned around and walked to my next class. No sense in just hanging around here.

I still wasn't sure whether or not I was Speed Racer's son, but it was pretty clear to me what X thought.
