Chapter 1 Hermione

I would love to tell you that I am totally convinced that Voldemort has gone, but there are these weird signs which make me dubious. Like how Professor McGonagall reacted when I mentioned to her that everything was going to be alright. Like how Professor Slughorn just shook his head and sighed. I don't know why they are behaving like this.

Harry and Ron think it's just that they feel so because it had happened previously- all the people had thought Voldemort to be gone the day Lily and James Potter had died, but he had come back with a vengeance. He had caused even more destruction than before.

I had almost agreed with them, almost. But there was this thing in the back of my mind, which nagged me incessantly. I myself didn't know what, but there was something not right. Of course, Hogwarts was now as happy as could be, but there was still a bit of fear, a bit of trepidation. What if he comes back? It won't be the first time.

I was jerked out of these thoughts by Ginny, who must have seen the look on my face.

"What's wrong Hermione?" She asked.

I shook my head and smiled. "Oh nothing, nothing at all."

Ginny smiled back. "Well then," she said, "How about a little game of Quidditch?"

"No thanks," I replied, "I am much more comfortable with my books."

"How are Harry and Ron doing in their search for the stray death eaters?" A soft voice asked from the door.

"Luna!" Both Ginny and I exclaimed.

"Hi," she said, smiling at us.

"How did you know the password?" I asked.

"Nearly Headless Nick told me," she said, "I told him it was urgent. So, how are Harry and Ron doing? I am really sad they didn't come back to Hogwarts."

"They found many," I replied, "We told them to come, but they couldn't."

"Well, I hope everything goes well."
