Author's Note: Any one who wants to play in this universe may do so with two exceptions: We ask that you give Queen Cindy and ourselves, Pirates Turner and Sparrow, proper credit for the creation of this AU and we require that you absolutely do not kill or greatly injure any of these characters, the latter being due to the fact that we do not want such a thing to come back and bite our sweet children. Yes, the beings who are mixed with the Seven to make this new breed of heroes, as well as the other characters, are very real and dear to our hearts. :-) They have all already been rescued from various dangers and perils in the world, and we do not wish to have to do so again nor would we ever wish such tragedy upon our loved ones. We have pictures of the kids used herein if any one would like to see.
The moment he was certain the dogmen were gone, Chris turned his attention back to JD and Nathan. "How is he?" he asked urgently.
Nathan sighed. "Bastard missed his heart. Barely."
"Canines never could aim well," Ezra commented disdainfully.
"Yeah." Vin smirked. "Just watch 'em wit' a tree."
Laughter rippled amongst the catmen before Josiah spoke earnestly, "Thank Bast they didn't!"
Seven furry heads nodded in agreement.
JD lifted worried eyes to Chris. "He heard me!"
"It's okay, Kit," Chris was quick to reassure the lad. "He heard you, but he's dead now. He won't be telling anybody, and the others didn't hear it."
"Or if they did," Vin put in, his ears and tail twitching, "they wan't sure what they heard." He'd seen the confusion in some of their eyes and made certain to put down those he'd known had overheard their youngest family member.
"You're a freak of Nature," Buck gently teased, kneeling beside JD and awaiting the moment that Nathan said he could be touched so that he could hug and further reassure him, "but you're our freak."
JD smiled weakly as unconsciousness tugged at him. "I'm a freak," he agreed, "but I'm a damn lucky freaky to have you guys as my family."
