"It's a mystery, really, no idea what happened kid" He whispered. Shooing the sobbing rabbit away, he took another drag of his cigarette as he heard thesob come from the child, limping off to continue his search.

"Damn shame, thought we settled all t'at a month ago"

Another drag.

Burgerpants surveyed his surroundings, as he had done hundreds of times, there being nothing more to do since the big event.

same ol' restaurant

same ol' burgers

same ol' wreckage

same ol' corpses

same ol' burgerpants.

He sighed, leaning on the counter, the thought finally striking him

Why don't I just leave?

He responded to himself

It's all I've ever done

He huffed

Why not leave?

Another drag

Where would I go?

A small cough, a thin red mist covering the countertop.

Anywhere but here

Another drag

It's safe here

Cough cough

But it's boring.

He stopped.

Burgerpants pushed open the hotel doors, the hinges snapping and collapsing onto the floor, dust pouring up into his open mouth

Cough cough.

"Eugh, gross." He muttered to himself, taking another step into the small alleyway in front of him, or what used to be left of it, glancing up into the open sky, the walls around him scarred and torn, bullet holes and claw marks decorating it like christmas lights.

Burgerpants took another drag of his cigarette, before it burned out, his fingers already twisted and scarred by how many he'd burned out a 'cig after the little 'altercation' that took place.

So he simply lit another one.

Then, he was suddenly struck by the thought of his little buddy.

"Wonder what happened to the little freak" he whispered, continuing down the large hole blasted into the mountain, stepping over the desperate clawing arm of a small froggit stuck under some rubble, and straight onto another's face.

"Oh, great now my shoe's all dusty."

He sighed, continuing down the tunnel, dust and blood lining the floors, the mangled and twisted corpses of humans stuck onto bits of pipe, metal spears, and simply clawed into bits.

Burgerpants stopped to look at a corpse that he- hang on did it just twitch?

It just twitched.

Burgerpants plucked the cigarette out of his mouth, kneeling down beside the young man, a small groan coming from his cracked and bloodied lips.

Burgerpants gently nudged the man with his foot, raising an eyebrow as his ear flicked.

"You alive lil dude?" He asked, with another nudge.

"H-Hello? I-Is anyone there? O-Oh thank god, c-can you help me, my leg's stuck unde- Aaragh! Aghh! Oh my god! oh my good good stop! Please! Stop! agh! My eye! My eye!"

And then he stop struggling.

Burgerpants flicked the cigarette off of the man's eye, slowly sinking his claws into the young boy's neck, a sweet candy red pouring out of it, and dripping onto the floor below, as he jerked and gurgled, his eye pussy and red, before collapsing onto the floor, with one final jerk.

Burgerpants sniffed his corpse, twisting up his face before realizing how rancid it smelled in the room, and how the dust made his throat feel drier than it already was.

"Well, guess that's my contribution to the rebels." Burgerpants whispered, before standing up, and reaching into his pocket.

"Dammit" he whispered, finding his packet empty, before kneeling down and pulling another pack out of the young man's face.

"You won't be needing these." He whispered, before continuing on his way, coughing into his arm, leaving a thick red mist.
