Mercedes' Lullaby
Sleep for now, I won't be long,
daylight's coming right or wrong.
Close your eyes and wait for day;
the night grows still the same.
Tears are running down her face;
child's quiet but she's brave.
Fear for what she cannot change-
hush now, it's only day by day.
Can you see, there, that light?
The dawn's soft white;
So bright.
