Summary: [Modern AU] When Law arrived home from school, nobody would open the door. He was forced to wait outside until his uncle arrived and managed to get the door open. The scene inside would forever haunt the two.
Four year old Law was upset as he trudged through the snow streets. His parents has said that they would pick him up, but they weren't at the school when the last bell rang. After a few minutes, he had given up on waiting for them and had begun to head home.
He finally got home and tried to open the door. The doorknob turned but he couldn't push the door open. Law knocked loudly on the door. "Daddy, Mommy, I'm home!" There was no response. "Open the door, I'm outside!" Again, there was no response.
Law shivered as a strong gust blew past him. After a couple more failed attempts, he sat down and curled himself, trying to preserve as much body heat as possible.

As Doflamingo pulled his car into his brother's driveway, he was shocked to see his little nephew huddled up in a ball on the porch. He rushed out and tucked the boy into his coat. "Law, why are you outside!?"
"S-S-S-t-t-tuck-k-k-k," Law's teeth chattered loudly as he buried himself in the warmness of his uncle's feathered coat.
Doflamingo pushed the front door open, frowning as he noticed that something heavy was leaning against it. His eyes widened as he smelled a familiar scent. "Law, close your eyes and look away,"
But Law didn't listen. He wanted to know why his parents had let him freeze outside. His eyes stared at the scene. "U-Un-ca-a D-D-Doff-y-y? W-Why is t-there r-red paint-t o-on D-D-Daddy and M-M-Mommy? W-Why are t-they s-sleeping?"
Doflamingo didn't answer as he hugged Law tighter, not knowing how to explain to the boy that his parents had been murdered.
The reason the door had been hard to open was because the bodies were blocking it from opening. So…yeah…this is a sad story…
