Outside, the winter air chilled the trees and the few animals who had not left for the season. Hidden in the hills of the Badlands, near the Animal Camps, a small cottage was covered in snow, with a nice cheerful gray smoke pouring from the chimney.
He smiled once the house came back into view, hauling the days hunt behind him. As if she sensed him (which really, she probably did), she appeared. He grinned taking in her distinct form. She ran out to him, to help him bring it in.
The cottage and the Camps had become her world, and it was a rather small one. He felt bad about that at times, wanted to give her some of her freedom back. But they both knew that she was far too recognizable to be seen in public, so he was the one to take the trips into the local villages to get supplies, which was perhaps dangerous as well- the town had noticed the young man had a resemblance to the late Winkie Prince. But they said nothing. It was largely easier to deny it.
Once the tasks off packing the food away were complete, they were able to finally attend to each other. He removed his heavy coat and pulled her to him. He felt her shiver- he was still cold from outside. He ran his hands down her body, feeling her warmth. He marveled at how delicate she felt to him, although he knew she would hardly consider herself delicate.
It was always like this. He never realized how homesick he had been until he was home again, with her in his arms. "I missed you," she whispered to him.
"I know. But I'm here now. Here with you." He kissed her forehead, the bridge of her nose. He lifted her chin so he could access her lips. He reached around to find the buttons on the back of her black dress and undid them, exposing the soft green skin. He ran one of his rough hands over the smooth skin, as she helped him out of his shirt. He slipped it off and it dropped to the floor, as the rest of their clothing did in messy heaps.
He picked her up easily. Her legs instinctively wrapped around him. He walked across the one room cabin to the bed, placing her on it. He slid her dark hair away to reveal her soft, emerald neck. He'd found, long ago, that this was her weakness. He kissed her cheek, moving over to gently nibble at her earlobe. Sliding across her, he placed a gentle kiss on her neck, hearing the gasp the escaped her lips. He sucked lightly on the skin there, enjoying the power over her he had.
It was like he was an army, like the very army he had once led. The army searched the enemy town, ransacking villages, leaving no stone unturned. Everything was his now, and needed to be experienced.
His army had never taken over a village as beautiful as this.
She shifted uncomfortably, and he realized he was staring at her. He didn't stop. He felt the need to study her, to rememorize her feautures. He recognized every inch, every scar. She bit her lip, uncomfortable under his gaze. "What are you-"
"Shh. I'm just looking at you. I really did miss you, you know."
"You were only gone for a week, love." However she smiled at him. "But I already told you I missed you, so I guess I'm silly as well."
He smiled at the look in her eyes, and leaned closer to her, kissing her, one of his hands getting caught in her hair, the other resting against her breast.
Time sped up and stopped at the same time. No one in the world existed, they were the only two people, and they were fine with that. They moved together, two beings fusing into one. Boundaries disapeared. Thought and reason were left behind.
Later, once she was asleep, he was able to think. She'd burried her head against his shoulder. They'd been through alot in the time since they had left Oz. Yet he knew that it was worth it. It was worth it just for knowing he would always be able to come home to her.
