Just another case, that's what JJ said as she called my phone at 4am. It was obviously a serious case to wake us all up at this hour, when we would normally be in the office at 7am.
Coming out of my trail of thought I placed my phone back on my nightstand. Slowly I climbed out of my warm haven, where the entire world stood still and walked into my dressing room. Picking up a simple pink top and black trousers I got changed and grabbed my overnight bag and was out of the house in record time.
The car journey to the office seemed to take ages, but once I was inside the elevator I felt a flood of warmth and settled into my usually routine. Stepping onto the floor of the behaviour analysis office made me extend a large smile up my face.
It seemed like years since I had been here. In a matter of fact it had only been three weeks. The three weeks Hotch demanded I have off after my ordeal in Colorado. I really didn't think it was such a big deal. In my life I had gone through much worse. True that my team didn't know about a lot of theses memories, but I liked it that way. They were my family now and the past was forgotten.
"Coffee?" JJ said as she handed me a cup of caffeine.
"Thanks," I replied, "so what do we have?"
Minutes later and the whole team were in the briefing room and JJ was handing out folders. There had been seven teenage girls killed in the past few months in the small town of Tenino just south of Seattle. The girl's ages ranged from fourteen to seventeen. The only thing linking the victims was that they all lived in Tenino and that they all wear the same necklace, a necklace that had a specific symbol on it. This whole case was giving me the chills; there was something familiar about this case. The necklace screamed a cult, and with the number of murders we wasted no time in taking the case.
"Wheels up in one hour," Hotch said as we all left the briefing all lost in thought.
