Relics and Artifacts are all that is left of the Forerunners. Could just one artifact grant the Covenant the power to destroy the Human Race? Yes. That's why we're sending in SPARTANS.

Brigadier, I assume you have been given the SitRep from Recon Team 17. We all remember the devastation that the Covenant has brought upon our forces, and we shudder at the thought of them getting another advantage. Unfortunately, it appears that the Covenant have found a Forerunner Artifact that they most likely intend to weaponize. Given the danger previous Forerunner Technology has presented, I think we all agree the need has arisen to destroy the Artifact, and the Prototyped weapon.

Time is of the essence. It is obvious that something that would give the Covenant this large of an advantage needs top priority. As it is such, I am ordering you to send in SPARTANS. Once again, time is of the essence. If my reports are correct, I believe that the only team currently without a mission is callsign Halberd. While they are not my first choice for this mission, nor my second, we can both agree that beggars cannot be choosers. Brief them and send them out Brigadier.
