Rating: PG, I guess.
Author's Note: Well, all of these entries are pretty short, so I'll probably be posting two per "chapter." They're basically Gene's thoughts after random events in the books. Hope you enjoy!
THE DIARY OF GENE FORRESTER
I jumped into the Devon today from a huge tree for the first time today. Finny and I both jumped, Finny first, of course. It actually tired me out a bit, and I lay in bed reading for the rest of the day. The only really bad thing about books is that they're so unreal, so once I got aggravated with the phony plot of the one I was reading, I started drawing what I thought the characters would look like. The margins of the page are filled with dozens of peole now, so I hope anyone who picks up the book doesn't think I'm too strange.
Finny's writing something now - probably still working on homework. I guess he thinks I'm making notes in my own book.

THE DIARY OF GENE FORRESTER (continued)
Finny created a new sport earlier today: blitzball. It's exciting, an adrenaline rush, you know, every man for himself. I felt almost athletic going out on that field, and I can't believe I'm actually considering sports now. I talked to Finny about it, and he seemed supportive enough. Wouldn't it be weird if I ever exceeded him in sports? Ha, that's like saying Finny could turn into a straight A student!
Speaking of straight A's, I had a geometry test today. I think geometry's my best subject, and I'm pretty confident about the test. It was nine pages long, and that made me angry. It should be a rule that tests can only be up to seven pages, unless the print is very big. What do you know, Finny's rubbed off on me.
