"Can you believe we have an extra class this year? And to make it worse they won't even tell us what it's about! I mean seriously, We've just had a war here! Why can't they just let us be?" Ginny Weasley complained to her friends as they sat on the Hogwarts express, ready to return to school. After the previous year when the school was contaminated with death eaters, and when half the school was missing, due to some war related disaster, Professor McGonagall had allowed every student to repeat their damaged school year — adding an Eighth year for those who would have graduated already. In other words — first and second years learnt the same things, third year that of second year, fourth year that of third year, and so on and so forth. Basically, Every year was one behind the usual.
So, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Dean, Seamus, Parvati and everyone else from their year had decided to return. George Weasley, Lee Jordan, Angelina Johnson, Alicia Spinet and Katie Bell had also decided to return, although George was reluctant (he wasn't sure if he could manage without his brother — but he assumed that anywhere would be better than the shop.)
"Actually, I can." Hermione stated from behind her book. Ginny, Harry, Ron, Neville and Luna rolled their eyes at the forever logical brunette. Hermione looked up from her copy of 'Hogwarts; a history' (that she was reading for what must have been the millionth time) to justify her point. "Well, the fact that the war stopped so much from going as it should, means that the Ministry must think the wizarding community is lacking a certain skill set. It could be really important — for example they might be training us in basic medical care just in case something comes up, or maybe they want us to learn to cooperate with each other better." She explained, getting Neville and Harry to at least nod their heads in understanding.
"Or it'll be something stupid like how to be a muggle." Ron argued.
"That's not stupid, it's actually a good idea." Hermione replied, "Tell me Ronald, how do you send an e-mail?" "Uhhhhh..."
"That's what I thought." she finished, turning back to her book, satisfied with her argument.
"Or maybe they're going to teach us how to catch nargles, Neville."
"Yes Luna, it could definitely be that."
So this was just a pilot of some sort. I know it's short but it should get longer — this is just there to set the scene. I'll do a few more chapters, then continue if I get any reviews.
