Neverending
Schhhhhhiiiinnnnnggh!
The sounds of battle echoed in the empty open expanse of the room, though he could see no walls or ceiling for the sound to echo off of. He nimbly moved back, bringing his sword up to barely intercept a vicious thrust. His shield blocked another, the resounding thunk loud in his sensitive ears. He moved back, but stumbled on the incline, and his opponent's sword came in fast, slashing from his shoulder to his elbow. His shield arm hung useless at his side.
He backed away, his sword held defensively in front of him. The enemy sword came back in a horizontal arc at waist height. He jumped backwards but his back collided with the lone dead tree that was the center of the vast chamber. The impact jarred his arm, and his sword lowered of its own violation. It glanced along the bottom of his enemy's weapon, creating an ugly screeching noise. The incoming sword was slowed by the friction of his blow, but slashed along his stomach. He could feel hot blood spilling down over himself.
The weight of his sword was too much, his strength was gone and his grip slipped. The heavy sword fell to the ground with a dull thud. He looked up at his opponent, the gleaming red eyes full of bloodlust, framed by ebony hair. His shadow raised its arm, the sword ready to slice into his neck.
The sword came down.
The sound of the sword biting into the wood next to his head echoed hauntingly in his ears. A line of red appeared along the side of his throat where the sword nicked him, and blood slipped down, soiling the collar of his blue Zora tunic, turning the fabric purple.
Link barely saw the hilt of his enemy's sword coming down on his temple, the blackness of oblivion was already welcoming him by the time he realized what had occurred.
Dark Link pulled the slumping Link into his arms, carrying him bridal style. He chuckled and shifted the sleeping Hero into a more comfortable position. He had seen the questioning glint in his lighter half's eyes before he had so callously knocked the poor boy unconscious.
"Oh no. I'm not going to kill you, yet…" He proclaimed. He looked down to the bleeding boy in his arms.
"Then whose plans would I foil?"
