A/N: Crossposted from AO3. Thank you my dear friend daydayli for the prompt!

"We have everything we could possibly need." Iida looks incredibly pleased with himself, surveying the night-time backyard set-up and ticking off the items on his fingers as he counts them. "Snacks, blankets, beverages, I even brought a few lawn chairs and set them up outside for us. We have absolutely nothing to worry about."

Ochako looks at the spread and beams, impressed. "This is really good, Iida! But you forgot the dancing bear and caviar."

Tenya stumbled for a moment, "A dancing bear? Uraraka, where on earth would I find one of those?"

She giggled, hiding her smile behind her hand. "I'm joking Iida, it's perfect, you don't need to worry."

"Yeah, you really thought this through." Izuku stepped around his friends to dig around the cooler, pulling out his favorite drink. "And they're already chilled. I'm impressed! One time I went on a picnic with my mom and we both forgot the ice and to put them in the fridge so all we had was hot pepsi to drink all day."

Tenya and Ochako took to their chairs, reclining easily. Tenya let out a content sigh, "We still have some time until the show starts, according to the report, but are you sure you don't need anything?"

Izuku and Ochako both made vague assertive noises, relaxing in their chairs and staring up at the night sky. A meteor shower was soon to start, prompting the little outdoor picnic this late at night. They made conversation, laughing and joking about their day and telling stories of their childhood. Ochako had apparently had the unfortunate experience of being stuck on the ceiling fan when she'd accidentally used her quirk on herself, Iida had managed to run into a wall, and while Izuku didn't have any quirk related stories, his were still just as funny.

"How did you manage to almost get kidnapped twice?" Tenya questioned, emphasizing the last word with his hands, as if to box in the word.

Izuku shrugged, "Mom says I was too cute for my own good. Her words, not mine!"

They laughed until Ochako gasped and pointed at the sky. "Look! It's starting!"

In the sky, streaks of light were shooting across the inky blackness, perfectly visible against the night sky. The trio ooh-ed and aah-ed, sitting back and enjoying the show. Occasionally they'd point out one that was especially bright, but otherwise they sat in silence, appreciating the beauty. The world may have evolved, may have made childhoods cut short and dangers more prevalent, but it was nice to see that simple pleasures such as this were still available in this ever changing world.
