Ivan goes to Kindergarten
Yeah, yeah, I just had an idea pop up in my head one day (a couple minutes ago) and since I'm so bored, I decided to write it. Ivan's mom wakes him up one day and he finds out he's going to school! ---
It was 7:30 in the morning and Ivan was asleep in his room, holding his teddy bear named Snuggles. Ivan's mom opened the door and opened the shades. Then she shook Ivan awake.
"Come on Ivan. Its time to go to school!" she said as Ivan rolled over.
Ivan got up, still holding Snuggles, and walked down the stairs into the kitchen. His mom was cooking what smelled like muffins in the oven.
"*Yawn* what's school mommy?" He asked as he climbed onto the chair.
"It's where you go with other kids and learn how to do lots of things!" she replied.
"Mommy I'm to tired. Can I go to school tomorrow?"
"You will. And the next day, and the next!"
"Mommy I don't want to go. Not today."
"Go into the living room, I have to finish baking these. You can look at your new school stuff."
Ivan took Snuggles to the living room and saw a lot of stuff on the table. There were crayons and markers and glue sticks, and a pair of safety scissors and new little sneakers with a picture of a teddy bear on them. There was also a little backpack with the same teddy bear on it. Ivan picked up each item and looked at it, he had never seen markers before. Well, he had once, but his mom said they were too dangerous for him to use, so there was actually something to look forward to when he went to "school".
"Ivan, muffins are ready!" called Ivan's mom from the kitchen. Ivan, still holding Snuggles, went to the kitchen to eat.
After breakfast, Ivan brushed his teeth, which were very clean. Then his mom brushed his untidy blond hair, and got him some clothes. When he was dressed, Ivan was wearing a cute little shirt with a picture of an ice cream cone on it, and blue jeans. Ivan's mom packed his bag, and got him a snack, and then helped him put on his shoes, and they walked out the door. They got into the car, and drove off to Ivan's new school, Acorn Tree Kindergarten.
Ivan was scared when he saw the size of his new school. And even more so when he saw a lot of kids running around and playing. He didn't think he would ever be able to survive in the school because it was so scary! His stomach froze, and he was shaking all over. What if no one wanted to be friends with him? What if he got lost in the enormous school? What if the teacher thought he was to little to use the markers??
"Here you go sweetie," said Ivan's mom. "I'll take you to your new teacher." They got out of the car, and Ivan held his moms hand while they walked down to the front door, where the teacher was standing. Ivan looked small compared to some of the kids he saw, and he thought he was the smallest person there!
"Hello" said the teacher. "I am Ms. Collar. And you must be Ivan." she said looking down at Ivan, who was hiding behind his mom. His mom and teacher were talking, and Ivan was looking around at the playground. There was a big slide with a pile of sand at the bottom, some swings, a couple seesaws, a spinney circle thing, and a couple other things.
"Ivan, I'm going now.," said Ivan's mom as she let go of Ivan's hand. "Bye, and have a good day!" She got into the car, and drove away.
"You can go play with the other children," said Ms. Collar. "The bell doesn't ring for 10 more minutes."
Ivan turned around. He was going to take the world of school by storm. He was brave, and he wouldn't be scared, not for anything. And Ivan walked off into the crowd. ---
