First Down, First Up
"Why didn't you owl me?"
"What do you mean, why didn't I owl you? Isn't it obvious? Are you really so oblivious to what you did to me?" Draco scowled. Tory had never seen him so upset, so dark, so furious.
"Okay, calm down. Let me explain. I just.."
"You just what, I don't want to hear explanations I want to hear the truth. Do you even trust me at all? How should I know if I could trust you?"
He glared at her, sending shivers down her spine.
Tory bit her lip and swallowed her fears. She was the girl he liked, she was pretty, popular, nice, funny, she could do this without crying! So much for building up confidence.
"Sit down and listen. Blaise wanted to talk, I was drunk and so was he. He told me he missed me, and that he still loved me, and it seemed like he really meant it. So before, and I mean before, I could do something stupid I left to owl you. I didn't do anything and he didn't touch me.
But he told me he loved me again the morning after. And if someone opens their heart to you it's hard to ignore if your boyfriend never says anything about feelings.
I was insecure and didn't know what to do. And then you I didn't hear from you for three days!
What am I supposed to think! What am I supposed to feel?"
Draco looked furious by that point. "I am going to kill that dirty, little fucker." he growled and jumped up.
Tory rolled her eyes and whispered: "That won't change anything."
Draco looked down on her, his voice cold as ice and his eyes even colder.
"Do you know how I felt reading your letter? You telling me that you need an insurance, something so you won't make mistakes?" he nearly spit out the words.
"Not knowing if you're in someone elses arms, enjoying it?
I didn't eat for three days. I barely slept. I came to bloody Italy for you!
I've been absolutely miserable. And I think that makes my feelings pretty clear, doesn't it?"
He sat next to Tory and wiped away the tear that was slowly running down her cheek.
"I am sorry. I didn't think you'd..." she started when he planted his lips on hers.
She looked up into his eyes after they'd parted. They were now a twinkling, soft grey. And then she spoke the first words that came to her mind.
Immediately Draco's face lit up like a christmas tree.
She had never seen him look so... perfectly peaceful and happy with himself and the world. He opened his perfectly shaped mouth and whispered back: "I love you too, Tory."
