Just a short slightly introspective scene from LKH, so obviously... spoilers.

Also, I don't own, so don't sue.

With shockwaves of new life coursing through his lifeless body he felt the warm glow of regeneration begin to envelop him. His eyes were released from their prison cast in death as his lids unshielded them. The dazed feeling of a slow death was beginning to ebb away and the glow of incandescent tendrils of golden light blurred his reacquired vision. Through the haze he could see a familiar face.

"River?" There were tears in her eyes, regenerative energy flowing from her fingertips. Her new yet achingly familiar mane of glorious unruly curls framed her face, light rebounding from each strand creating a halo around her head. Her arms were outstretched toward his face. He could feel the pulsating beat of his hearts beginning again– no, not his: hers.

"No. What are you doing?" She was his life support, giving him her future. Sacrificing an eternity for him...

"Hello Sweetie." She closed the distance between them until her lips met his and she was River Song. He felt her mind ripple against his, urging life back into his body; he could feel her apology just as much as he could feel her warm salty tears coursing down his cheeks. He couldn't help but marvel at how much she had already given him, and yet here she was giving him everything.

River Song lived her last life having sacrificed all others for him, only to give him her last breath; it was one hell of an apology.
