The monsters were smiling. The Lich, Paradom, Harpy, Veron and Drawl... They were just monsters for Pete's sake. So how the hell can they smile? They were just undead beings - more or less an evil soul trapped in an earthly body. It can feel but it couldn't hurt. It can't love and smile just a destructive fake smile.
So what kind of argument is that? What the hell was Ryan trying to point out?
They were enemies. The Grand Chase was made to erase their existence.
Still, there the orange guy went, now with Amy and Jin in trying to convince her that the monsters can smile. The hell? However; every time they try to ambush monsters, she could see them, even just a split second, smiling at each other. She even recalled to herself, seeing a pair of goblin - a girl and a boy. She killed the boy; the girl came towards her to attack her. And of course, she killed the girl goblin too.
It was a cruel thing to do. But hey, they were enemies. And her job is to kill them.
Or perhaps... Jealousy. She was simply jealous and just wouldn't admit it to herself.
But she wasn't a hypocrite was she?
Although she also wishes that someone would care for her as much -
As much as the blue eyed assassin would.
As much as Lass would care. He was her best friend - one of the closest friend in the chase. And since he was always alone, she would be there. She was always there.
And now shifting back to the topic that she really wasn't jealous. She was just terrified and felt... unexplainable defeat.
She used to be his best friend. But a simple confession to Lire changed it. And a small, "Yes, I like you too, Lass." It completely took her title as his only best friend.
Although - tonight, as she stared at the group of monsters, this would be the last time she would cry. She would now stop writing his name on the forest floor, or even on her research work. But of course, he wouldn't catch it. Even if he did, she was sure he won't notice it because he's busy thinking of Lire. Only Lire.
"Hey, shorty, you okay? You've been... off these past few missions." and he finally noticed. A smile began to form but,
Locks of blonde and red stood next to him, to her dismay. "Concentrate first, chat later you two."
Remembering the monsters and even Kaze'Aaze - she exhaled and prevented the tears from pouring out as her lips curved upward.
"Yes Lass. I'm totally fine." And then she smiled a fake smile back at him.
