I sighed. It was my father's wish that I come and live in Forks. Both of my parents were long dead, and my godmother came and
took my from beautiful California. They showed me his will request, claiming that my father, Mike Newton, wanted me to come and
start a new life here. It's way to cold and wet for me, but it's still home until I'm 18.
I started down the path leading to the woods. It was really wet in Forks, but still gorgeous. I don't what my godmother saw that
made her love this place. Other than her boyfriend, her charming boyfriend, who's father happened to be the best doctor this town
has ever seen. My godmother, Bella was always telling me about how perfect he is. They came and took me away after my parents
died, Mike and Jessica Newton. So I'm pretty much stuck here, doing nothing, taking walks in the woods.
As I'm about an hour away from home, I hear a sound. Not just twigs and leaves cracking, but a wolf, or at least that's what it
sounded like. It was howling, and it sounded like it was in pain, and that it was close-by. I loved animals, and I quickly ran to find it. I
hoped it wouldn't eat me.
I ran down rest of the trail, and slipped a few times. Some how, I inherited my godmother's genes on being, well, a klutz. Around
my third or fourth slip, I fell, and tumbled down, and cut my knee. "Shoot," I said to no in particular. The wound was really big,
almost as big as my finger span.
And then, I heard the crack and breathing. I was dead sure that it wasn't mine. I looked up in horror. Surely there was the wolf.
But he was looking at me too, his head slightly tilted, as it he was confused. I tried to stand up. When I was half way, I noticed that he
was bigger than the average wolf. And that he looked nothing like one.
The first thought that came to my head was 'Werewolf'. I fully stood up, and stuck my hand out to him. He looked at it.
"I'm Elizabeth, but most people call me Liz. I heard you cry out, and ran to help you, and almost got myself killed in the process.
But you don't look like you need help, so I'll just be going now."
I turned around and started to leave, when he yelped. I turned back around, and he was leaving toward the forest.
"Erm, this is all going to end up being a dream, isn't it?" I said to myself and sighed. Nothing this cool could actually happen to me,
and then just walk away. Only in dreams.
Then I saw something coming out of the forest. It was a boy. He wasn't older than I was, and he was actually, kind-of cute. He
was walking toward me, with his eyes directly on mine.
I was amazed. Seriously, a werewolf? His eyes did look like the wolf's.
He was still walking when he fell, and yelled, "help" in a deep voice. I ran over to him immediately.
"So you are the wolf." I asked him. He nodded. "I'll get you to the hospital. The doctors are very good there." He shook his head.
" I'm just not used to walking on two feet." He said slowly, as if he wasn't used to talking. "It'll pass by, just help me get up," he
said as if he were going o bet his life on it.
I stood him up, and let him lean on me. "Um, I'm Elizabeth Jenning, but most people call me Liz. I'm not specal in any way "
He looked at me and smiled." I'm Jake. Well , my full name is Jacob Black, but everyone who knows me calls me dog."
