"but you're the smartest, funniest, toughest, buffest, talented-est, most incredible-est girl in the world!"

He had longed for her. He still does. Her tanned skin, her beautiful, big blue eyes, her hair swept up into her usual do, her gracefulness and power. But her passion. Her passion is what he likes best. Beauty catches the eye, but personality holds it. Her personality - passion, she's fierce, hotheaded, but passionate.

Maybe it's the way that she makes him feel happy, complete, just plain content. The way she smiles her big goofy smile at him makes him feel warm inside. He longs for her warm arms around him, her soft lips against his, just for her and him to be together.

He hates the way she sends those small smiles at Mako, laughs at his particularly lame jokes. Mako, Mako is oblivious. He is sure that Mako knows that she likes him. They did, after all, kiss.

The kiss. Why does he always remember it? He wishes that he hadn't seen it. It hurts too much to remember.

Ever since his parents died, he wanted attention. He was always mimicking Mako as a child, but that soon got old. He started being…himself. And now he regrets that because she likes Mako but not him, the forgotten, silly earthbender. Just the cool-under-fire firebender like Mako.

He lays in bed, staring at the ceiling, the silk covers messily thrown over him. Sometimes he stares out at Air Temple Island, taking comfort that she is safe. Most of the times, he dreams about her. They're good dreams, most of the times. But lately they are nightmares.

Loosing her. Those are the worst. He wakes up gasping for air, tears plastered on his cheeks, his sheets sweaty, Pabu glaring at him for waking him up. The worst part is getting up the next morning, seeing Mako being oblivious, still, about her affections for him. It's painful, sickening.

At the morning practices, he keeps his green eyes on her, longing for her blues to meet his like they sometimes do, for that tingly feeling he gets when it happens.

There are the happy moments, too.

Her soprano laughter at the jokes he tells her, her broad smile when he whispers something funny, or when he makes Pabu do silly tricks just to see her smile and laugh. Her eyes lighting up at simple pleasures.

She had made him notice things he had never before. Such as the murky sunsets and sunrises, the birds singing, the swaying grass. It's a wonder in its own way.

He wants her so much it hurts.

Bolin longs for Korra. More than Korra longs for Mako.

All Bolin wants is her.
