-One-Sided Argument-
-A 'Final Fantasy VII' drabble-

The crystals gleamed in the dim cave as the orphanage owner entered, greenish blue glowing off her skin, eyes and weapons. Tora approached the largest crystal in the centre of the cave, stepping over the pool of water in front of it and gazing at the crystallised woman. Lucrecia didn't even glint to show that she could tell someone else was with her.
Gold eyes narrowed. "So you're the one who made Vincent's life a living hell..." Tora didn't look impressed, "You could've at least worn something a little more appropriate to your crystallising...such as a lab coat or something?" Her voice echoed around the rocks, making the shimmering crystals chime quietly. Within seconds the orphanage owner pulled Trigger from its holster and held it up, the barrel pointed directly at the scientist's heart.
"I should just blow you up here and now, give Vincent a new life." she hissed, finger quivering over the trigger, "The man you chose over him was nothing short of a monster, and I should know; he changed me into what you see me as now." Black cloth covered the upper right arm of the orphanage owner, scars from years of abuse by the Head of Science invisible to the naked eye.
Tora suddenly relaxed and put away her gun. "No...I won't be like him. I won't take away a memory just to exact revenge." Stepping closer to the crystallised Lucrecia, she reached out and touched the clear rock, "Vincent loved you, Lucrecia. He adored you, trusted you, and even maybe worshipped the ground you walked on. Maybe I'm exaggerating, maybe I'm not. But I do know that you nearly killed him thirty years ago, and I suppose this is your repentance."
"I'msorry..." suddenly echoed through the cave, in a voice Tora didn't know.
"Was that you?" she asked, her own voice echoing as well, "It's almost as if you're using hollow words to communicate a moot point. No matter, I suppose no-one can hear you cry down here." Turning on her heel, the orphanage owner strode out of the cave, deliberately stepping in the pool of water in front of Lucrecia's stone prison.
"I'm sorry..."
