Author's
Notes:
First try at fan fiction! I took the poem from Holes
by Louis Sachar (not sure if it's the book or movie version of it, I
think they're slightly different). Hope I do good :).
"If
only, if only", the woodpecker sighs,
"The
bark on the tree was as soft as the skies"
As
the wolf waits below, hungry and lonely
It
cries to the moon,
"If
only, if only."While
reading Holes
in class (again) Jacob still hadn't grasped the meaning of that poem,
other than a sighing woodpecker and a hungry wolf. But now as he sits
alone in the woods in who knows where, the poem replays over and over
in his head. He thought that finally being alone inside his own
head for once would be more peaceful. Instead, he ends up crying to
the moon about the pale beautiful girl he left back home who probably
doesn't give a second thought to his disappearance. She's too in
love
(and no, not with Jacob Black he forces him self to think) to think
about anyone else but him.
So he sits and cries to the moon, "If only, if only".
