Jack grimaced. His lookout had just spotted Commodore Norrington coming after them. It had certainly taken him long enough!! But here he was, and Jack wasn't going to go down without a fight. It was a warm muggy day, and it was starting to rain. The wind was picking up too, but it was still hot. They were doing fine when a thought hit Jack: What if a tropical storm started? Not wanted to worry about that at the moment, he ordered his men to drop all the sails as to coax as much speed as possible out of them. The ship started to move faster, and when Jack looked behind them, there was the commodore's ship, gaining slowly but surely. The Pearl was fast enough without all the sails, but to beat the commodore they would have to use them all. Another thing Jack was when he looked was the wind picking up. It was a lot faster than it was in front of him, and he knew that it would result in a hurricane. Surely Norrington wouldn't try and sail through that, so he would get a larger lead on him. And Jack didn't see anymore of the commodore after that.

One Year Later

Gibbs was sitting at a table in Tortuga. He had a bottle of rum in front of him, and should have been happy. But he wasn't, because Jack had given him the precarious job of recruiting ninety-nine people for Jack's (or, Davy Jones') crew. He had just given three people a place on the ship, and here was another one. He looked sort of familiar, but he rather doubted his eyes. After all, he was an old man, and one could never trust his eyes.

"What's your story?" He couldn't believe he had let Jack talk him into this.

"My story, same as your story, just one chapter behind. I became obsessed with capturing a notorious pirate...chased him across the seven seas. I lost all perspective, I was consumed. The pursuit cost me my crew, my commission, my life."

"Commodore?"

"No, not anymore, weren't you listening?"

The End

I was inspired to do this because of hurricane Ike. We learned about hurricanes in school today so yeah... I kinda cut it off at the end, but that's because I can't remember the dialog and my Mom won't let me watch DMC right now.
