Shelke the Not-So Transparent

When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on. ~Franklin D. Roosevelt

01; Colors

The children hadn't know her for that long but she could tell that they already expected her answer to be bland.

The petite red head had taken too long to answer; "What a stupid question Marey! Shelke probably likes black or white or clear-wait, is clear a color?"

"Pink," she silenced the now bickering children. "My favorite color is pink."

For the next three months she held the name Pretty in Pink.

02; Love

For such a small hand Yuffie could deliver one hell of a slap. Shelke knew she should forget such trifle matters but she couldn't bring herself to, not even three years later.

Yuffie just like Reeve and Vincent had all cared for her sister.

She wished she could feel the same way about Shalua as they did.

03; Fear

They said she was stoic at the best of times. Sometimes this reputation worked in her advantage. As she stood over in the corner of the bar staring aimlessly out the window the others wrote it off as typical Shelke behavior.

What they didn't know was that Shelke Rui was actually shaking in her pink and white boots.

That huge, talking, red fire dog always did scare her more than Chaos himself.

I love Shelke. I simply find her fascinating and misunderstood. Much like the FDR quote I see Shelke as a young, determined woman who is now holding on the rope of so-called normality trying to find some peace and stability in this world.
