Summary : Nathan got caught in the rain, but Eliot knows how to make him feel better . . .
There were a few words that sprang to Eliot's mind as Nathan appeared through the door, but he didn't voice them convinced that the last thing Nate would want to hear were the words, "drowned rat" or for that matter, "Aw, he looks cute, rain plastered hair, soaked clothes and dejected frown."
Without a word, he stood and crossed to the bathroom, returning only after he'd set the shower to warm up. Nathan was shivering, almost blue from the cold and he was struggling to untie his shoelaces with clumsy half frozen fingers. Eliot leant over, dropping a kiss to the top of Nate's head, before dropping to kneel in front of him to untie the unforgiving shoes and ease them off, leaving Nate standing in sodden clothes, dripping a growing puddle of water on the floor with a pitiful expression.
Eliot smiled as he rose, undoing the buttons on Nathan's coat. "You know if you weren't shivering quite so much this could be sexy!" he murmured. Pulling the coat from Nathan's arms, he hung it up before pushing the older man towards the bathroom.
As he opened the door, a swirl of steam escaped and he urged Nate in so he could close the door behind them both, immediately setting to the task of removing the rest of Nathan's clothes and ushering him into the shower to warm through. "I'll be back in just a minute," he reassured before turning to pick up the dropped clothes. He took them out and put them in the washer ready to set going when Nate had finished in the shower, before heading to find fresh clothes from their bedroom.
Returning to the bathroom, he laid the sweats and t-shirt over the heated towel rail to warm before shedding his own clothes and climbing into the shower with Nathan. He reached for the cloth and soaping it up, he ran it over the older man's body, gently easing out the tensions the shivering had induced, until finally Nathan seemed warm and almost relaxed.
It was a while later and the water was running cooler before the two men left the shower together and Eliot had ensured that Nathan was even more relaxed and warmed before they did. It hadn't taken long for Nate to dress in the warmed clothes and move through to the couch with Eliot joining him after setting the washing to going and fetching them both a beer from the fridge. They had settled together, bodies entwined, familiar and comfortable before Eliot asked, "So . . . you were kind of wet and cold there for a while?"
Nate's response was a half snort of laughter, "Yeah kind of . . . Car broke down and cell battery had run out, but hey, if I'd known that was going to be your reaction, I would have come back wet before now!"
Eliot smiled, leaning over for a leisurely kiss before reaching for the TV remote and handing it over to Nathan with a smile as he settled in comfortably for the evening.
