A.N. So I thought, what might have been Prussia's Davie Moment.

Gilbert sank against the base of a tree in exhaustion. It was done. Pieces of what had mere minutes before had been a blood thirsty wolf were now scattered on the forest floor. The boy turned to his companion.

"Are you alright?"

The latter was still in shock. "You ripped it apart...you killed it...with your hands..."

"I'm sorry. I was just so angry when it hurt you, I don't know what came over me."

"It was amazing."

"I try to be. Now, how is your wound, Wilhelm?" Gilbert pressed his cloak against the deep claw marks in his friends chest.

"You're hurt too."

"It's just a scratch. Yours is worse."

"It won't stop. I don't know why. The blood just keeps coming."

"How do you feel?"

"Weak, cold, tired... so tired... I want to go home."

The albino sighed. "Don't worry, we'll go back after you die."

Wilhelm jerked to attention. "What?"

"The wound's to deep to heal on it's own. You need to go to die so your body can have more energy to heal itself."

"But I don't want to die. I want to grow up to be a warrior. I want to marry Gertrude and have children. I want to live. Where's mother? I want mother." The boy was spazzing with fear.

"Gilbert was puzzled. Didn't Wilhelm's parents ever tell him how this worked. "And you will. The Darkness isn't that bad; not bad at all."

"Darkness?"

"It's a little place where you get to wait while your body heals. And once it's finished, you wake up. I've been there a couple times. It's very warm and cozy."

"How long will it take?" The boy's voice was getting weaker every minute.

"Judging from your condition, about an hour. Though once I was burned pretty bad and only the worst was healed. I had to do the rest when I was awake."

"That's good. My parents would be worried if I was out too long... Hey, Gilbert, can we go swimming tomorrow?"

"Of course, if I finish my chore fast enough."

"That would be nice..."

"Hush now, no more talking. Just go to sleep and I'll be right here when you wake up."

Wihelm promptly obeyed, and Gilbert followed suit, still tired from the attack.

The albino awoke in his own bed, his arm neatly bandaged.

"Is Wilhelm awake?"

Germania turned to him just then realizing he was up. "Excuse me?"

"We were attacked by a wolf."

"I saw. That was very brave of you, but next time you should think twice about revealing your strength. Then again it was an emergency..."

"Wilhelm was hurt pretty bad, so he went to the Darkness to wait until he was better. I was just wondering if came back yet."

The ancient's face was filled will surprise and sorrow. "I thought you knew already. Human's don't go to the Darkness; their deaths are permanent. Your friend will not be coming back."
