John's P.O.V:

As I pushed open the Baker Street door, the aroma of freshly-baked cookies attacked my nostrils. I breathed in the pleasant smell, thinking Mrs Hudson has been baking again. Images of what delightful treats she had made had already started to pop into mind but she was nowhere in sight. I shrugged it off and smiled ushering in my girlfriend Jenna. Well maybe it was too early to say girlfriend. This was only our second official date.

Our first (unofficial) date was in the hospital canteen where we met for a coffee. I met her at St Bart's whilst I worked a shift and she was visiting a friend. She was pretty, sweet and funny. Boring some might say and by some I mean Sherlock but I thought she was good company, and tried not to think about what he might say.

Our first official date I had taken her to a restaurant. Not Angelo's. I wasn't going to make the mistake of taking my date to Angelo's again. Angelo is convinced Sherlock and I are dating. I don't know how many times I have to say it for people to understand, I'm not gay. Going out with Jenna should be enough proof.

Jenna and I had a wonderful time at the restaurant and we chatted for hours. It was nice to be able to talk to someone apart from the great detective who never cared or simply got bored. Our second date, today, had been at the bowling alley. Lestrade had some tickets to a local alley and had given them to me to take someone along. And it just so happens that Jenna loves bowling. She was surprisingly good at it for someone who claimed to not have played much. We had lunch and she had suggested a cup of tea at mine. I had hesitated at first, because there were no cases meaning Sherlock was home but when she looked at me with her big, beautiful chocolate eyes at me I couldn't refuse.

I smiled at her and ushered her in, before leading her up the stairs. As we took our final steps, I paused outside the door. It was silent. But I could just about hear the traffic on the street, which meant the windows were open. Therefore meaning, Sherlock was home. But I couldn't hear him moving around. What is he doing I thought to myself...
