I don't own The Outsiders. I figured if everyone is burried in snow almost I might as well write about it.

"DAMN IT!" I said aloud. Snow, the white plague that's what it was. It meant that I had to get up earlier, because I had to drive slower. Earlier meant dragging Soda and Pony out of bed, I mean literally dragging. I rolled over to check the clock, five in the morning. I'd give myself five minutes. I wanted to burry myself underneath the covers it was so cold. I hated the cold then again I was a construction worker there for I hated any weather that was discomforting.

"Darry." The voice of my baby brother pulled me from my sleep. Why the hell was he up at the god-forsaken hour?

"You okay?" I asked.

"I'm off of school they just announced it."

That's great why are you waking me up. "What time is it?"

"5:03" He said.

I let myself fall back asleep.

"DARRY!" Pony shook me again.

"What?" I snapped.

"Your boss call you don't have to go to work because he can't make it out of his driveway. And well Soda."

"Ponyboy." I threw back my covers. The air sent chills down my spine. I hated that feeling too. "People sleep on snow days. Try it."

"But Darry!" He tried.

I grabbed him pulled him into bed. I threw the covers back over us.

Pony squirmed around until he got comfortable. He had his face nearly buried between my neck and chest. I smiled rubbing the back of his head.

I woke up again around nine. This time Pony was gone. I groaned threw my feet on the side of the bed letting them hit the cold floor. I found my old football sweatshirt and put that on. I walked into the kitchen where air seemed to be coming from the back door.

Pony was sitting at the table with Johnny they were shaking their heads and laughing.

Then I saw what they were laughing at. Steve and Soda in their underwear. "What the hell are you two doing?" I slammed the door shut.

Soda grinned. "Well we heard about how in Alaska people run in the snow in their underwear or jump in the ocean. We tried it."

I shook my head. They were both out of their minds. "You too need to go get you're heads checked. Go shovel the driveway both of you!"

I took out the coffee filters. I opened the can and realized something. We were out. I slammed my head against the cabinet and groaned. First, snow now no coffee.

"Here Darry!" Soda slid me a cup of something that appeared to be hot chocolate. I took a sip and spit it into the sink. "Soda what did you do make hot chocolate and put a pound of sugar in it?"

"Yup!" He answered. "It's good isn't it?"

"I can go get you coffee." Soda offered.

I patted his hair. The offer was nice but I wasn't about to have him to tracking to a store and die in the snow. "No thanks little buddy."

The day got quite when Johnny and Pony went out sled ridding. Steve and Soda were attempting the driveway. I decided I would go get my newspaper real fast.

I stepped out the door and something cold hit me in the back. I heard roars of laughter coming from Soda and Steve. I could have knocked their heads together. I grabbed my newspaper and stormed back inside. I cleaned the house before sitting down and reading the newspaper. I was reading about a came when I coffee can slipped down. I took it and looked up at Pony. He gave me a faint smile. I wondered if he realized he got my decaf. . "Thanks kiddo"

"Snowed out?" I asked.

Pony shrugged. "Two-Bit has his little sister with him and Dally wanted to go pick up girls over at the park. Johnny went with him."

I raised my eyebrow. "Didn't feel like it?"

Pony shook his head. "I'd rather stay here with you." He sat down next to me on the couch. "Besides it don't look like the snow is going anywhere soon."

I thought about his last words. "Hey Pony." I put my arm around him and forced his chin to look at me. "Neither am I."

"Go put you're snow gear back on." I smiled to myself. "I got some revenge to seek out on the two in our drive way!"
