Gordon lay back on his bed with a magazine as he tipped some sweets into his mouth, it had been a reasonably quiet week and so he had decided to take advantage and award himself with some down time, he turned on some music and buried his head into the book losing himself to the comic strip, lazily he crumpled the wrapper of the sweets and threw it towards where he knew the bin was, unfortunately, that's not where it hit.
"Urgh Gordon!"
Gordon jumped a foot into the air and dropped the magazine on the bed, "Oh, hey Scott. Didn't see you come in."
Scott turned the music off and placed his hands on his hips, "You missed, again."
"How close was I?"
"You hit me so, not very close at all. How do you live like this Gordo?" Scott asked as he stepped over various shirts laid across the floor.
Gordon shrugged, "I get by."
Scott reached the bed and sat down, "You're worse than Alan."
Gordon frowned and kicked Scott's leg gently, "Alan is ten times worse than me."
"I'm not sure about that. You really need to tidy this up Gordon, it's pretty disgusting."
Gordon rolled his eyes, "I don't need a lecture about housekeeping," he shrank slightly under the harsh blue glare, "But I'd like to see you try."
Scott picked up a bundle of clothes and threw them at Gordon's chest, "First of all, either in the laundry or in the wardrobe. Get to it," Scott stood up, "Oh, and you should probably empty your bin."
Gordon pouted and as Scott left, he threw an empty bottle at the door hitting it hard, "Urgh."
"Gordon!"
"Uh oh."
Scott pushed the door open, "Don't be such a brat, did you throw that at me."
"I may have aimed it."
"You're such a child, grow up."
"I don't need to listen to this, you're not dad and you never will be."
Scott took a step back, "Just do as you're told."
"Shut up," Gordon looked up and suddenly saw the hurt in Scott's eyes from his previous comment, "I'm sorry."
Scott shook his head, "No, forget it, I'm out of here."
Gordon sat up, "Scott?"
Scott walked out and kicked the bottle back into the room, "Forget it!"
Gordon bit his lip then looked around at the mess in his room, maybe Scott was right about it, he needed to sort it out, but first he needed to apologise to his eldest brother. Forgetting about the obstacles below, he jumped off the bed and tripped over some clothes sending him sprawling into the corridor, he got up and carried onto the lounge where Scott was being comforted by Virgil on the sofa, he ran down into the ring and threw himself around the eldest.
"I'm so sorry Scott."
Scott rubbed his cheek against Gordon's hair, "It's ok. I am trying to be dad too much, I forget I'm supposed to be your brother."
"You're close enough to be dad though," Gordon sniffed and held Scott's shirt tighter.
Virgil smiled, "Gordon's right Scott, and you're doing a great job."
Scott pushed Gordon back gently, "I can't replace him, and I don't want to."
"I'll sort my room out, I promise. Just don't be upset with me, I know I'm annoying and everything else, I'm just lazy."
Scott smirked, "That's all I needed to hear," he pulled his brother back into a hug and sighed contentedly into Gordon's neck as his younger brother grinned happily.
"I could tidy your room too."
"Do your own first and we'll see."
