The light envelopes me completely. My clothes are thorn apart and blood sprouts from my body, draining my energies and closing my eyelids slowly. Strangely enough, I feel no pain…
They say that your entire life passes in front of your eyes before you die…
But now, it is a single scene five years ago, yet I remember it as if it happened yesterday. I offered everything to her…everything in the universe…but she rejected me in such a graceful and cold way that I never saw before…
"I was so close, but you swatted my hands away"
"Eonia"
It was her…
The time stops. My eyes open wide as she appears before me. Her face is unveiled. She looks so natural, so human, and so beautiful…
She looks at me with sorrowful eyes. "Eonia…I told you…about how dangerous the power you had was…"
"If you only cared more about the people…if you only would've been a little more selfless…"
"I couldn't." I answer dryly. "I can't possibly care about people who treat you like a tool."
"People who enjoys their lives at cost of your suffering."
"People who lock you in a cage made of their ridiculous dreams."
"They are worthless…"
Shatoyarn pauses for a moment. "Eonia…do you know why the Gods are so powerful…? And why they can live forever…?"
The question itself caught me off-guard. I don't answer, instead, I blink once.
"Because they are here to serve the humans."
"If with my sacrifice I can ensure the happiness of all of these people…then I wouldn't mind…"
"I wouldn't mind giving away my life if that's what is needed to create a future for everybody…"
The look in the eyes of Shatoyarn is magnanimous. So full of strength, braveness and at the same time kindness and love.
"All because…it is my decision."
A sudden sensation runs across my entire self. Images of my past actions flood my mind uncontrollably. My stomach twists and my heart constricts...
I don't care.
I don't care for all the destruction, for killing my own family, for killing all those people, for making everybody else suffer…
I only care for her.
I want to embrace her. To tell how much I love her. To tell that I would be willing to sell my soul in order to see her smiling at me…
The light shines even more brightly.
The figure of Shatoyarn begins to fade away. We both extend our hands…so close yet infinitely far…
Tears burst from her eyes…
She screams something I can't hear…
Hades calls forth my presence and I can't refuse…my eyes close slowly…
I am falling into the eternal slumber…yet once again I don't care…
