Kagome awoke to the sounds of her mother busily working in the kitchen. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and stretched her arms over her head. After hearing a small pop from each arm she rose from her bed and went to the bathroom for one last shower before going back to the feudal era. After finishing her morning routine Kagome headed downstairs for breakfast. Just smelling the eggs and bacon made her hunger grow.
Inuyasha was sitting lazily on a branch in a tree near the well. Knowing Kagome was coming back today calmed him a little. He would see her again after three days being gone. He lay back against the tree and closed his eyes, thinking of the girl who had come into his life only one year ago.
Sitting down at the table Kagome made sure not to hit her damaged leg on the edge of her chair. It was a battle wound from their last fight and wasn't completely healed yet. About five inches long, was the gash on the outside of her left thigh. It wasn't very deep, but it gave Inuyasha quite a scare. He wouldn't put her down till she was tucked into her bed in her time, and wouldn't leave until she was in a deep exhaust ridden sleep.
On the other side of the well Inuyasha was remembering the same thing. Smelling Kagome's blood had scared him half to death. He remembered how she kept telling him she was fine but still refused to put her down till she was in her bed at home. He smiled at that. She was so warm against his chest and she smelled great. Like jasmine or something.
After breakfast Kagome made sure everything she needed was in that oversized yellow backpack of hers and carefully picked it up trying not to let it tip her over. Walking outside Kagome made her way to the small shrine behind her house. She opened the doors and walked up to the side of the well. Resting her hands on the side she lifted herself over the edge, and into the well to see Inuyasha, who she had a feeling would be waiting for her on the other side.
He could smell her; she was back. Inuyasha leapt down from his tree and looked over the edge of the well. In the feudal era, Kagome looked up expecting to see blue, but instead caught sight of a very annoyed looking hanyou. Inuyasha reached down into the well and grabbed her under the arms, lifting her out into the morning sunshine. When he put her on her feet she wobbled for a second before regaining her balance.
"Where have you been? You were supposed to be back two hours ago." He asked.
"I wanted to eat breakfast with my family. Jeez Inuyasha you've never been this mad at me coming a few hours late. Is something wrong?" Kagome replied easily noticing the change in his expression, but then he asked something she hadn't expected.
"Kagome, why do I smell your blood?"
