A:N/ Hi! I'm still alive! I just haven't been feeling like writing lately. But, I wanted to post something, so I dug this up from my documents in Word. Sorry it's so short! I wrote this to test out using prompts; I think it's obvious this one was Flowers.
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.
"Ohayo, Minato-kun! How can I help you?" A friendly Yamanaka asked as Minato entered their famed flower shop. His shockingly bright yellow hair looked windblown, showing he'd been in some sort of hurry. A light blush tinged his face. He absently touched his cheek, the cheek that Kushina had just kissed. The clerk looked curiously at Minato, faintly surprised to see the usually composed man so flustered. "Minato?" She said loudly, noting the faraway look in his azure eyes.
"Oh, hi. Sorry about that. Um... I need flowers." He smiled as he shook himself out of his thoughts. The clerk laughed.
"I sort of figured, I mean why else would you come to a flower shop? Anyway, what kind? And if you don't mind me asking, who are they for?" She inquired, leaning across the counter with interest.
Someone snagged Namikaze Minato? The Yellow Flash?!? The man that every girl – and some guys – lusted after? This is the juiciest gossip ever! And she was hearing it first! The Yamanaka grinned excitedly.
"Oh, um... No, I..... Don't mind. Her name is Kushina. And I'm not sure what kind of flowers." Minato added. The platinum blond widened her eyes. Kushina? As in Uzumaki Kushina? The loud-mouthed, red-headed tomboy? Granted, she did fill out in the past few years, making her look less boyish. And she'd grown her hair out too, which also helped... but still! New image aside, she was exactly the same!
Oh, I can't wait to tell Haruno! She thought, snapping her jaw shut.
Minato raised his eyebrows. Was it really that surprising? He spent almost every spare minute with her, even before they were dating. Which technically, they weren't. Minato frowned at the thought, deciding to fix that problem when he gave her the flowers. That'd be a good time, right? He groaned internally. He sucked at all this romantic crap.
"Wow. Are you going out?" The clerk asked, disbelief coloring her voice.
"Not yet." He responded, his voice hinting possessiveness.
"I suggest Water Lilies. Ya' know, 'cause she's from Whirlpool?" She suggested after a moment of awkward silence. Minato grinned and nodded his approval.
"Kushina... will you go out with me?" Minato inquired softly, producing a water lily from the scroll he was holding and placing it in her hand. They'd been training together when he'd randomly asked her. Her fist stopped in front of his face, stopping the oncoming punch.
"Huh?" She asked dumbly, uncomprehending. Her eyes were wide as she stared at him in surprise.
She looked so beautiful, his princess, he just couldn't help it. It slipped out. "Kushina, I love you."
"Minato...." She cried, happy tears welling in her eyes. She wrapped him in a tight hug.
"Is that a yes?" He laughed.
"Do you even have to ask?"
A:N/ So? What do you think? Be sure to press that button and tell me! Or just point out mistakes! Ah, I love MinatoxKushina! Well, actually, I like hearing about the past of stories. Is that weird? Oh well.
Vocab:
Ohayo - Good morning
