The words exchanged had torn them apart. There had not been an 'I hate you',

but it felt as if that's all that had been said. It all began over feelings

of betrayl. They both shed tears, but hers were more apparent. He held

them in through his anger and disbelief. Was he really yelling these

hurtful words at her? She was fearful, but not of him. The fear was that he

really believed the lie that had been placed in front of his face. It was a

lie. The evidence was so believeable even though it was false, a plot. She

had been framed. They wanted to take her away from him. Their plan were

beginning to work. If he hated her, she wouldn't work with him and if she

disappeared they thought he wouldn't care.

She had been trying to explain it to him, but he wouldn't hear it. It was as

if he wasn't himself. She was scared for her life now. If he didn't believe

her, she would have no one to help her and protect her. He was endangering

her now, and he knew that if she was telling the truth that he would never

forgive himself. He had been betrayed in this way before. It wasn't her who

had left him to help the others, but it had been his past lover. He made a

promise to himself after she had left him. He was never to love again. Years

later he found why she had left him and that promise he had made years

before was reinforced. This evidence in front of him was proof that the new

woman, his new lover, had done the same thing as his previous lover. He loved

her more than he thought ever possible, and he knew she loved him.

The door had slammed behind her as she ran out of his apartment. In the

elevator she fell to the ground crying. She had lost the man she loved

because of his hunt. The conspiricy was tearing them apart. She had dealt

with it for six years now and was willing to deal with it for the rest of

her life; for him. At this moment she hoped and prayed he knew that, and that

he would meet her at the bottom of the elevator with open arms. He wasn't

there but was still in his apartment looking at the evidence hoping to find

something wrong with it. Scanning it with his eyes he spotted it. The

mistake, the flaw, the one thing that would change his mind.

She exited the elevator hopefully looking for him, but he wasn't there.

Making her way out to the car she looking up into the night sky noticing the

cresent moon. He bolted out of his apartment and ran down the stairs

frantic. Sweat began to roll down his forehead. Jumping over the railing and

skipping steps he only thought of her and the mistake he had made. He was so

angry with himself now. How could he be so stupid as to think his one true

love would betray him in this way? She would never do anything to hurt him,

and she would certainly never leave his side for someone else's. Finally

reaching the main floor, he ran through the lobby before seeing her standing

there looking up at the sky. He slowed and walked outside. She turned after

hearing the door close. No words were exchanged. Only tears and cries.

Standing under the dark blue sky he pulled her to him and hugged her

tightly. Her tears wet his neck, as his wet her aburn hair. Angry words were

never to be exchanged again.
