He turned his head. She looked up at him.
"May I help you with something?"
She smiled, "You seem distracted."
He didn't respond.
"The enemy could have made an attack, and I could have been seriously injured, or dead, because of your distraction."
"Your lack of faith in my abilities is insulting," he responded coolly.
She turned towards a shelf to observe the bright green content floating in a jar. He looked into a mirror, at the far end of the room and caught a glimpse of their figures.
He observed the tattooed symbol on her back shoulder, and compared it to the same one on his front shoulder.
"Oh by the way," she reached her hand into the inside pocket of her grey jacket, "Happy birthday."
He felt a sudden trembling in the ground and a distant sound of clothes flapping quickly in the wind. His muscles tensed as he slowly turned to face the door of the shop, baring his teeth. His incisors tore through his gums and increased in length.
People darted past the window, screaming and running over each other as if to get to safety. The shopkeeper left his desk rather swiftly and disappeared through the back entrance, more anxious about the presence of his customer's unexpected revelation than the chaos going on outside.
"We have company," she said calmly putting back a small package into her pocket.
A low growl emitted from his throat, "Permission to kill on sight."
"Granted."

Firstly I want to create this introduction as I would like to make a few things clear. I want to let my readers know what they are getting their selves into and what my intentions are with my fan fiction before they dive in.
In this story I intend to keep it as true to J.K Rowling's writing as possible. I will not bring back the dead, move around couplings, change their futures etc. Mostly everything such as I listed will remain the same.
This is an alternative universe fan fiction, which will continue soon after the battle at Hogwarts. I will introduce many new characters, places etc. into the story.
Please remember that this is a fan fiction and I may do what I wish. I am in complete control.

**This prologue introduces 2 main new characters which will have a great affect to the Harry Potter universe. This event is also very important, but I can't give too much away now can I?
