Its been 10 years since Casey lost her battle with cancer. Most of the family grew up and moved on. Derek was the only one who really visited her grave anymore, and every time he goes he plays a song he heard the day of the funeral. Today he was going to celebrate life because today was Casey's birthday.

"Hey Casey Happy birthday," Derek says getting his guitar out.

"I am gonna play that song for you."

Sunny days seem to hurt the most.
I wear the pain like a heavy coat.
I feel you everywhere I go.
I see your smile, I see your face,
I hear you laughin' in the rain.
I still can't believe you're gone.

It ain't fair: you died too young,
Like the story that had just begun,
But death tore the pages all away.
God knows how I miss you,
All the hell that I've been through,
Just knowin' no-one could take your place.
An' sometimes I wonder,
Who'd you be today?

Would you see the world? Would you chase your dreams?
Settle down with a family,
I wonder what would you name your babies?
Some days the sky's so blue,
I feel like I can talk to you,
An' I know it might sound crazy.

It ain't fair: you died too young,
Like the story that had just begun,
But death tore the pages all away.
God knows how I miss you,
All the hell that I've been through,
Just knowin' no-one could take your place.
An' sometimes I wonder,
Who you'd be today?

Today, today, today.
Today, today, today.

Sunny days seem to hurt the most.
I wear the pain like a heavy coat.
The only thing that gives me hope,
Is I know I'll see you again some day.

Some day, some day, some day.

As Derek put his guitar away he looks at Casey's grave and as he usually does he updates her on how the family is doing.

"Edwin and Lizzie are expecting a baby in June its going to be a girl, Marti graduated high school last month she was a valedictorian you would be proud of them, and sadly about two months ago dad and Nora died in a car accident.," Derek says his voice heavy with happy sorrow.

"I just started a new fundraiser to help cancer patients live to see another day, I named it after you," Derek says kneeling down and tracing the letters on the headstone.

"I love you always Casey," Derek said staring at the headstone which said:

Casey Mcdonald-Venturi

1990-2009

Loving Wife, Sister, and Friend

You will be missed

As Derek turns to leave he hears her voice whisper in his ear.

"I love you too forever and always," but as fast as he heard it, it was gone again.
