June 26th was the day that a strange man was born, the only thing known about his childhood is Shouyou-sensei and his relation to Gintoki and Takasugi, he was always a serious but strange person but a great friend, after Shouyou-sensei was killed, he stood by his friends and a new one named Sakamoto to fight in the Joui war. The war ended and the four went their separate ways, one to space as a merchant, one to extreme terrorism, one to odd jobs and Katsura to terrorism as well, time passed until he would meet Gintoki again and he decided on more peaceful means to achieve his goals, over time with everything from his encounter with Gintoki again to all the crazy adventures in Kabuki-chou including the Okama bar to screwdrivers and more, Katsura would bring stranger and stranger people into his life especially Shinsengumi captain Shimaru. He's regretful about Takasugi and how he couldn't change him but what will be, will be, however that ends is just what was meant to happen, whether Takasugi lives or dies, Katsura's relationship with the woman he loves, Ikumatsu, will also be as it is meant to be no matter what, his love holds strong and pure for her, as he protects her, never expecting more, just that she is happy.
