Warnings: Animal cruelty, blood-lust
Summery: Bakura gives Ryou a lesson in hunting birds, and in how not to be gullible.
Author's Note: Written for my friend Dani as a response to a challenge for that pairing with the phrase "No! You're supposed to do it like this!" to be used.

"No! You're supposed to do it like this!" And with that, one pale hand with sharp fingernails darted out of the open window and grabbed hold of a bird in mid-flight skilfully around the neck. The hand shot back inside, the bird hanging pathetically in front of Bakura's manic and rather excited face. It was still alive, but it wouldn't be for long… not if the thief had anything to do with it.
"Yami… I'm not sure I like this lesson," came the response from the innocent silver haired boy standing beside him. Not that what he said mattered, they went through this lesson each and every day whether he protested or not. "And I don't think that poor bird can breathe very well…" he added on, staring worriedly at the creature within the other's grasp.
Bakura's only reply to that was a very quiet and very evil sounding, "good." He stared at the bird, and squeezed just a little tighter… not enough to kill it though, not yet, he was enjoying the pathetic noises the animal was making, and the look of terror he was sure he could see in its eyes.
"Yami, please don't eat it, let it go…" Ryou sighed, knowing exactly what he would have to sacrifice in order to get his own way in this. After all, it happened every day.
"And what will you give me if I do?" Bakura asked, although he was perfectly aware that Ryou knew what he wanted in return for the bird's freedom. And as he expected, Ryou responded to that by pulling the collar down on his shirt and rolling up his sleeve.
Ten minutes later, the bird was long gone and probably as far away from them as possible, Bakura pulled away from his lighter half's neck, leaving two puncture wounds, to match the two on his wrist that he had made a few minutes before, and Ryou went to sit down on the bed to try and make the dizziness caused by blood loss subside.
"I have something to tell you," Bakura finally spoke after licking his lips and the splatters of blood on his fingernails. "I hate the taste of birds."
"You do…?" Ryou blinked. But why did he – well, he supposed he hadn't ever seen Bakura eat a bird, but that was because he always stopped him, wasn't it?
"Exactly," came the response, in his mind this time… sometimes he forgot that his yami knew what he was thinking. "You love those little pathetic birds so much you give me your blood in return for their freedom, and that's exactly what I want from you."
Bakura was violent but more manipulative, and Ryou was innocent but more gullible. A match made in heaven as far as the dark half was concerned, and one made in hell in the opinion of the lighter one. But as long as there were birds to catch, Bakura got his blood, and so long as none of the creatures were harmed then Ryou was happy – No one lost, except for maybe the birds.
