Sealand pressed himself against the outer wall of the new house, lifting one hand to brush his wet bangs away from his eyes. It was hot, the intense summer heat making him sweat, his clothes sticking to his skin. He hid in the shade of large beams, and other assorted building materials, scattered around this corner of the backyard. The nursery was being constructed, so he was supposed to stay in the front yard. Yeah, right. Snickering, he edged along the wall, keeping as quiet as he could as he peeked around the corner. He saw a tall redhead bent over a few planks and a bucket of paint. He could see the back of a silver haired man, standing on the lower rungs of a ladder and nailing something to an unfinished structure. The only noises were Sealand's rapid breath, the steady pounding of the hammer, and the occasional chirping of a bird. He snickered excitedly, but stayed still, watching intently. It had to be the perfect moment…not yet…not yet…and…now! He flung himself from the shadows, screaming like a madman. Northern Ireland yelped, jumping a good four feet in the hair, sending the can of paint in his hand flying. Prussia cursed, stumbling off the ladder as orange paint splattered his clothes, hair, and skin. Sealand laughed, doubling over in hysterics. Uncle North was not amused.

"Sealand!" he screeched, obviously still trying to recover from the shock, "What the feck were ye thinking?"

Sealand just kept laughing, "That was so awesome! You should've seen your face!"

Prussia looked like he was torn between laughing and screaming. On one hand, that had been a pretty awesome prank, and North had screamed like a girl. Totally awesome. On the other, he was now covered in orange paint. Totally unawesome.

"Are you trying to kill me?" North snapped, shaking the can in his hand and showering the ground in tiny dots of orange paint.

"Noooo. I was scaring you. It was awesome!" Sealand explained, beaming as he jumped to emphasize his point.

Prussia finally broke and laughed, until North pinned him with a glare fiercer than any he'd seen since the twins were born. He almost shivered in fear. Pregnant North was not someone you wanted to piss off.

"Sealand, I should send you home right now – "

"Aww, Uncle North!" Sealand protested, eyes going wide as he whined.

"The kid vas just having some fun." Prussia defended.

"Yeah! I'm sorry! Don't send me away! Please, please, please, please, please!" he begged, blue eyes widening with that innocent plea only a child could master.

North stared at him, determined to stay strong. It didn't take very long for him to sigh and wave his hand dismissively, "Alright, fine. But don't do it again!"

"M'kay!" Sealand agreed, laughing as he took off at a full sprint.

North stood there, shaking his head, "That kid was born for trouble…"

"He vas only jok—"

A sudden, echoing crash cut him off, followed by the telltale, "Oops!"

North gave Prussia a blank look. The Prussian just shrugged. Maybe the kid was born for trouble. North side and the two nations went to retrieve their mutual nephew…who would likely spend the rest of his visit in a locked and padded room.
