Author's Note: So! I'm starting a new story, titled, "We Used to be Best Friends." It is a narrative from Ally Dawson's point of view. The main idea is, Ally's grown out of her stage fright. In fact, she's a famous singer now. But she and Austin are rivals in the music biz. Blah, blah, blah. So, this is the first chapter, hope you enjoy it!

A year has passed since I last saw Austin Moon. A tear rolls down my cheek as I lay on top of my purple comforter, staring into space. What had caused us to be torn apart? We used to be best friends!

Why is Austin so upset about me not having stage fright anymore? Ever since I met him, he has been trying to find a cure for my phobia. What had gotten into him?

I'm Ally Dawson, a famous singer. I used to be Austin's songwriter, but now we're rivals in the music biz. It's hard to believe we were once best friends.

It's amazing how many things can change in a year. It seems like Austin simply adores me one day, then absolutely hates me the next. If he was a real friend, he would feel happy for me.

Just two days ago, I had auditioned for the lead role in a movie. I remember that e-mails are being sent out today. Eagerly I check my mail on my iPhone. I smile as I see an e-mail saying I got the part of Cassidy. It also says that I am supposed to meet the director on Thursday. Today is Tuesday. I can't wait!

Two days later, I walk into the auditorium where I am supposed to meet the director, Mr. Koffing. "Hello," he greets me. "I am Mr. Koffing. You must be Ally Dawson." I smile and shake his hand. "Yeah," I reply. "I'm Ally Dawson!" Suddenly I begin to feel butterflies flying around in my stomach. Even though I don't have stage fright anymore, I still feel nervous sometimes.

The director walks me backstage to meet the rest of the cast. He goes through the names of everybody, then pauses before saying the last person's name. I gasp at the sight of the tall, blond boy, the last person standing.

It's somebody I've thought about every single day.

"This," the director says, "is Austin Moon."

Author's Note: Oh my gosh, this chapter is less than 1,000 words. I am dying!

The next chapter will be longer! It must be! Or I will DIE!

Wait... I will only do the next chapter IF I get 5 reviews...

or maybe there will be a point where I just feel like continuing it for entertainment...

But still. Review it!
