Olivia looked up from where she stood in front of the grave. "What are you doing here?"
"It's your mother's funeral. I thought you might need a friend. Besides, I thought I should come pay my respects."
Olivia looked confused. "You didn't know her."
Elliot shrugged. "Without her, you wouldn't be here. I figure that's something to thank her for."
Olivia looked up at him. "Thanks."
"Anytime."
They stood together in the cold, listening to the priest finish the funeral.
Through her glove, Olivia felt the warmth of Elliot's hand as it gripped hers tightly. She looked up at him and smiled slightly.
