Hope you like it, I wrote this really late so it's pretty bad but yeah.
Will was nervous. Although it was not the first time him and Nico hung out, he still got mild butterflies each time.
Today, they decided to leave camp and have lunch in town. Which was not Nico's favorite idea, because while people were becoming more excepting of relationships like Will's and Nico's, Nico was still afraid of what people thought of him.
Will walked towards Nico's cabin and knocked. He figured he should be polite. Nico answered the door so quickly it shocked Will.
Will grinned, "Were you waiting by the door for me?"
"Well you're only fifteen minutes late, so yes, I was waiting for you."
"Shit, sorry. I lost track of time," Will was embarrassed. He was late the last time they were planning to hang out, and they ended up not being able to go.
"You've got to work on that, Solace," Nico joked.
. . .
The restaurant was quiet, and that was perfect for Nico. The conversation was mostly Will cracking cheesy jokes and Nico not even making an attempt at a joking, but mostly laughing at Will's jokes.
Ever since Nico started hanging out with Will, he noticed he had been smiling much more than he used to. When they started seeing each other, Will didn't think it was ever going to be possible to get Nico to smile as much as he did now, but he soon realized it was pretty easy to get him to smile, at least for Will it was. Will had a way of making him smile and laugh that nobody else did, and Nico wished he could understand why.
The cheesy jokes and light conversation continued until they had finished their lunch. It took them a while to pay because they both insisted on paying, but in the end Will won the argument and ended up paying. After they had paid they decided to take a small walk before going back to camp.
While they walked they made small talk and reflected on the events of the war with Gaea that happened only two months ago, but it felt like two days to Nico. Time went by to fast when he was with Will, and it seemed like he was never able to get enough time with him.
Will reached over to grab Nico's hand. Nico was hesitant to hold Will's hand in public, but he decided he shouldn't care. If someone had an issue with it that was their problem and not Nico's.
They stopped walking and talking long enough for Nico to realize what was coming next. Many thoughts ran through his head in the fraction of a second it took Will's lips to reach Nico's. It was just a soft and short kiss. It was a few seconds, long enough for a first kiss, but it didn't feel long enough to Nico. Will's lips pulled away and he rested his forehead on Nico's.
"I really like you, Nico. I hope you know that."
