I wrote this poem… hm, back in November. I never posted it because I lost the notebook it was in, then it turned up while my sister was cleaning her room. I figured I'd post it, even though it's not my best work.
Stumbling, tired,
A little wary
Knowing a new life is nearing
But what you don't know
Is better left unsaid.
The storm is growing
The new world's on the horizon
You'll be quick to think
It's always been dead.
Like a toxic dump
But getting better,
Like they said
Best hopes to all
Who must sleep and eat
Then choke and fall
And can't always be running;
They'll need to be tough
As brand new pioneers
In a changed place,
Your ancestor's landscape,
Welcome to the Dead.
Since in the movie, Earth was screwed up, so I tried to think of the opposite word of Earth: dead.
